At the 12th Fret in Toronto, the REALLY pricy guitars are behind the counter…oh sure they’ll let you try ‘em out, but putting them behind the counter discourages many a would-be hack (like me!) from manhandling them inappropriately!
Here’s a good example…I was waiting to pay for my purchases and spied this nice-looking pink/mauve metallic (not sure what that colour is called…) Stratocaster. As I was looking at it another customer came up and asked to see it…and the guy behind the counter pulled it down for him. At that point I noticed the guitar behind it…the sunburst Stratocaster. Turned out to be a vintage 1965 Strat! My “holy grail” of Strats. I didn’t have the heart to ask how much and then hear a number I would never be able to afford in my wildest dreams! :(
