Former X Factor champion Shayne Ward has blamed bosses at Syco Music after he was dropped from the label following the release of his third album.
The singer, who is currently competing in television show Dancing On Ice, won The X Factorin 2005 and released his last album Obsession in 2010 but claims he became less popular with fans after spending time out of the spotlight.
Shayne told new! magazine: “People have got to remember that the label took me away for three years.
“That three years didn’t do me any favours. I lost a large fanbase and released myObsession album and before I knew it, I wasn’t with a label.”
However, the star insists he holds no grudge against Simon Cowell or executives at Syco Music.
He said: “I don’t see the point in being bitter. Let’s just say better decisions could have been made on certain things.
“I’m very happy with what I achieved with the time I had with the label.”
